Portrait of Rosetta made during a visit at the artist house in Procida in 1989. Painting done using the mirror technique, placing a second sheet of paper over fresh paint and pressing it down to use the trace as the end result. Second photograph: the artist while making the portait and holding hand with the model. Physical contact was an important component in Desiato's pictorial poetics. As can also be seen in the first photo, Desiato used to paint portraits while holding the subject of the painting by the hand.
