Descrizione
"Minaret Hats represent the continuation of the research on the mystical body that the artist represents as a metaphysical and supernatural body. The “minaret hats” are like castles, fortresses placed to protect the head, the highest part of the human body. But they are also an extension of the same body: receptive antennae, channels that lead and impart spiritual energy, as in the traditions of the ancient Mali Dogon people in West Africa. Maïmouna Guerresi herself creates these artifacts that she makes the female and male characters and photographs theme. Their faces are hidden by a movement of the hand, sometimes they are covered or simply close their eyes, they seem to withdraw from the world to get in harmony with the divine cosmic spirit." - Fondazione Pasquale Battista
