"Her path in anthropology and art has led her to focus on the differences in “perspective” and “spatiality“ among cultures and generations in daily life. She researches “viewpoints” that continue to change and move in the boundary area of things. By creating floating intermediate space, a peculiarity of the Japanese culture, in her work, she explores a multifaceted and relative perspective that discovers “connections” rather than “distances”. Using different media, such as painting, printmaking, and installation, she mixes traditional and contemporary Japanese and European techniques. She frequently combines woodcut techniques on silk fabrics, using yarns to trace connecting lines and transparencies as a substance to create spatiality.
